Drake Is Reportedly Circling a Coachella 2027 Headline Slot

Some artists take a victory lap after a big year. Drake appears to be scouting for a stage big enough to hold one.

The Toronto rapper is reportedly in advanced conversations to top the bill at Coachella 2027, per Hits Daily Double. Organizers haven’t said a word, and neither has his camp, but few names would make more sense for a festival chasing a headline moment.

Consider the run he’s on. In 2026 alone, Drake rolled out three full-length projects (Iceman, Maid of Honour and Habibti), followed them with the short film FOMO, then reissued Habibti in an expanded edition tied to it. He’s also confirmed a world tour for 2027, though the routing remains a mystery. A Coachella booking would give that tour the kind of launchpad most artists only dream about.

His history with the festival is brief but unforgettable. Drake’s lone headline set, back in 2015, is remembered less for the setlist than for Madonna’s surprise appearance and the onstage kiss that became one of the most replayed clips of that era. Two years later, he resurfaced as an unannounced guest during Future’s performance. If the rumour holds, 2027 would end a 12-year wait for a proper headline encore.

For a festival that sets the tone for spring dressing worldwide, a Drake headline slot would carry weight well beyond music. Between OVO’s global reach and the moody visual language he’s built across this album cycle, the look of the show could be as talked about as the sound.

Reaction online has swung between excitement and eye-rolls. Plenty of fans are already dreaming up a full OVO takeover, calling the return long overdue, while others haven’t moved on from 2015, with a few vowing to sell their tickets if his name lands on the poster.

Coachella 2027 takes over the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, across two weekends: April 9–11 and April 16–18. Until the lineup is official, this one stays in the maybe column, but Drake has rarely been one to skip a big entrance.
