Niche fragrance and tennis culture have been circling each other for a while now, and Nette just made it official. The New York fragrance house has released Mr. Cloud, its first-ever collaboration, created with tennis and lifestyle personality Morgan Riddle and master perfumer Antoine Maisondieu.
Riddle has become one of the most recognizable voices where tennis, fashion and lifestyle meet, and she recently co-founded The 400 Club, a female-led platform rethinking how women engage with sports culture. For Mr. Cloud, she worked alongside Nette founder Carol Han Pyle and Maisondieu to capture the slow, easy rhythm of an afternoon at a private tennis club: freshly cut grass, flowers lining the path to the courts, crisp whites and warm skin after a match.
The scent is built around tuberose, Han Pyle’s favourite floral note, paired with an unexpected cold milk accord. Freesia and cut grass open the fragrance, tuberose and milk sit at its heart, and a base of blonde woods and skin musks keeps the dry-down soft and close.
Mr. Cloud launched September 22 exclusively at Sephora and is now also available at Saks Fifth Avenue and nettenyc.com, with further expansion to Nette retail partners Space NK and Bloomingdale’s. The Eau de Parfum retails for $150 USD (50ml).
For Nette, it marks a significant moment of growth, and for anyone who’d rather smell like match point than a perfume counter, a very easy sell.
