Timex Proves the Best Watches of the Season Are the Smallest Ones

For years, the wrist was a game of size. Bigger cases, bolder faces, more presence. That era is quietly ending. From the red carpet to the street, the most interesting watches right now are the small ones: dainty, shapely, and worn with the confidence of fine jewelry. Timex is leaning all the way into the shift.

The 170-year-old American watchmaker has unveiled its Fall/Winter 2026 women’s collection, its most expansive women’s launch in years. The collection is built around refined proportions, vintage-inspired shapes and details that feel closer to a jewelry box than a watch case. Think crystal-set bezels, malachite and mother-of-pearl dials, polished metals and crocodile-grain leather, all pulled from Timex’s archive of designs from the 1950s through the 1980s and reworked for now.

It’s also a collection that doesn’t care much about who it’s “for.” Small cases were once filed under women’s watches, but they’re increasingly worn across genders by collectors and style leaders alike. “Today, people are less concerned with traditional categories and more drawn to proportion, character and how a watch makes them feel,” says Giorgio Galli, Chief Creative Director of Timex Group.

The icons, reworked

The Cavatina, Timex’s beloved oval, anchors the collection in several forms. The new Cavatina Luxe grows slightly to a 22mm curved case, with select versions featuring malachite or mother-of-pearl dials whose natural striations make each piece one of a kind. At the other end of the scale, the 17mm Cavatina Mini keeps its cushion case, domed crystal and ’60s script logo, now on a crocodile-grain leather strap.

The Quartz E Line, first released in 1983, returns in a slimmer 30mm case with its signature TV-screen dial and a sleek steel bracelet. The square Addison pairs its 23mm case with Roman numerals and a beveled bezel, while the Marlin Quartz brings mid-century polish with a sunray dial and domed acrylic crystal. For something more architectural, the 34mm Q Timex Marbella adds a bolt-detailed bezel and textured dial.

Extra sparkle, new ways to wear it

Still to come: crystal-framed versions of the Addison (50 crystals) and the Cavatina (36 crystals), plus the standout of the season, the Cavatina Mini Necklace. Its 17.5mm case hangs from a 20.5-inch crystal-accented chain that can be worn as a pendant or wrapped around the wrist as a multi-strand bracelet. It comes in silver-tone with a white dial or gold-tone with a champagne dial.

The message is clear: choose your watch the way you’d choose a ring or a pendant, by mood, personality and proportion. Timex calls it “Make Time Yours.” We’d call it the most wearable trend of the season.
