Canadian R&B and pop duo Tuché have officially announced the release of their forthcoming EP What I Want, alongside the project’s cover art and tracklist. The four-track EP is set to arrive on April 20, 2026.
Formerly known as 4twnty, the singer-songwriters step into a new era under the name Tuché, marking a significant evolution in both sound and identity. After years of development, the duo returns with a project that explores love, desire, vulnerability, and self-discovery. Their sound blends Afro-influenced rhythms with R&B, pop, and soul, positioning them within Canada’s ever-growing contemporary R&B landscape.
What I Want features production from UGYN, Brizy Beats, and Atlanta-based multi-platinum producer TAYO, whose credits include work with NBA YoungBoy and Tee Grizzley. The EP is executive produced by longtime collaborator 180dazz.
Speaking on the release, Tuché describes the project as a defining moment in their journey: “What I Want is more than just a title, it is a reclamation. We began this journey in 2018 in Windsor, Ontario as 4twnty, two girls born on the same day creating music for fun and sharing it within our community. What started lightly soon became purpose after performing in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Toronto, where we discovered a deep love for storytelling through music.”
“As second generation immigrant women with roots in Sudan and Nigeria, we carry both the discipline of our upbringing and the desire to create something of our own. This project exists as a time capsule, bridging who we were with who we have become. Some songs were written years ago and refined with the voices and experiences we hold today. It is the past and present coexisting in a way that feels honest. What I Want represents the freedom to move with intention, to create, express, and exist fully as we are, without compromise.”
With this release, Tuché makes it clear that this is not simply a return, but a reintroduction. The EP signals a shift in creative direction while staying rooted in authenticity and storytelling.
