The original version of “L.L.L.” arrived wrapped in bright colors and playful excess, introducing the strange, self-contained universe that Stockholm artist m0n0 jay calls the Candy Gym. It was a world built from pop maximalism, gym-floor euphoria, and a sense of humor sharp enough to keep the whole thing from collapsing under its own spectacle. On the ATH Remix, that universe remains intact, but the lights have been switched off.
French producer ATH (Arthur Conseil) takes the source material apart piece by piece and rebuilds it as something colder, heavier, and considerably more unsettling. The sugary architecture of the original is stripped back to its bare essentials. What survives is m0n0 jay’s unmistakable soprano, floating above a relentless pulse of distorted kicks, metallic textures, and low-end pressure that seems designed for concrete walls and crowded basements rather than brightly lit social feeds.
What makes the remix compelling is not its aggression but its restraint. ATH avoids the temptation to simply make the track louder or harder. Instead, he isolates the elements that made the original memorable and places them in a completely different environment. Familiar melodic fragments appear like distant memories before disappearing back into the fog of percussion and synth noise. Even the track’s playful DNA feels transformed, becoming something darker and more hypnotic.
For an artist whose early identity has been tied to hyper-saturated visuals and tongue-in-cheek gym mythology, the move feels surprisingly natural. Beneath the glitter and camp, m0n0 jay’s music has always carried a physical quality. Her vocals stretch, strain, and surge forward with the same intensity that drives the rhythms underneath them. ATH simply amplifies that instinct, translating it into the language of warehouse techno and industrial trance.
The result lands somewhere between pop deconstruction and club utility. It works as a standalone statement, but it also hints at unexplored territory for m0n0 jay’s project as a whole. Rather than abandoning her established world, the remix reveals another side of it. The Candy Gym is still here. It just happens to be operating after midnight.
“L.L.L. (ATH Remix)” succeeds because it understands that transformation is more interesting than reinvention. The voice remains the same. The atmosphere does not. What was once fluorescent and playful now feels sweaty, nocturnal, and slightly dangerous. The basement door has opened, and m0n0 jay sounds entirely at home inside.
